New Rumor Claims Lucasfilm Is Building New Jedi Order Era Coming to STAR WARS Universe
A new rumor has surfaced about the future of the Star Wars universe. The last Star Wars movies we saw on the big screen were not received well by the fan base, as they were not very cohesive, and had a lot to live up to with the high hopes of viewers going in.
We’ve seen several shows set in the same universe released since then, with many of them being pretty good, but yet again, we are facing a new set of films headed our way.
Aside from The Mandalorian and Grogu, which is anticipated by fans of the series, and Star Wars: Starfighter, starring Ryan Gosling, it’s been announced that the next film to take place inside the timeline we know from the main nine films will be called Star Wars: New Jedi Order. This was previously announced, but a new rumor claims that this film will just be the start of a new era in the Star Wars timeline.
According to industry scooper Daniel Richtman, Lucasfilm plans to create a New Jedi Order era that will be set after the events of The Rise of Skywalker.
This era will “be similar to the Mandoverse” and will “gradually build towards a major event that brings together characters introduced in past films.” According to Ritchman, this era will begin with the upcoming Daisy Ridley Rey movie.
This is just a rumor at this time, as it has not been officially confirmed by Lucasfilm, but it does make sense that they’d shoot for a new trilogy that could maybe be seen as redemptive by the fans.
What we know so far about the first film is that Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms. Marvel) has been tapped to direct the Rey movie, which will take place about 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker, and will focus on Rey constructing a new Jedi Order.
Stay tuned for updates on the Star Wars universe.
