New Rumor Says VISIONQUEST Series Is Set to Introduce One of Marvel Comics Oldest and Most Important Characters

Paul Bettany’s MCU character Vision is returning to our screens in the upcoming Disney+ series VisionQuest, where he will be faced with many challenges while trying to regain his memory and humanity.

The last time we saw him at the end of WandaVision, it was revealed that he had been turned into White Vision, and we are finally catching up with him after all these years.

While we know that the series will follow Vision’s relationship with Ultron, who will be played by returning actor James Spader, as well as Vision’s son, Tommy, played by Ruaridh Mollica, and various droids we are excited to see come to life, it turns out that another surprise character may be in the works to add to the show’s unique story.

According to insider Daniel Richtman and a recent report from Feature First, VisionQuest could introduce Jim Hammond, Marvel’s original Human Torch. The report claims Hammond may appear in only one episode, while his creator, Dr. Phineas Horton, could have a larger recurring role in the series.

For those unfamiliar with the character, Jim Hammond is not the same Human Torch as Johnny Storm of the Fantastic Four. Hammond first appeared in 1939’s Marvel Comics #1.

He was an android whose synthetic body could burst into flames when exposed to oxygen. MCU fans may have already seen a reference to the character in Captain America: The First Avenger. During the 1943 Stark Expo, a synthetic man connected to Dr. Phineas Horton could be seen inside a glass tube.

This sounds like a very interesting storyline, and if it’s true, I look forward to seeing how it plays out. This is unconfirmed, though, so just wait and see if it ends up checking out.
