New Rumored Details Regarding Florence Pugh's Character in Marvel's BLACK WIDOW
An interesting bit of information has recently surfaced regarding the upcoming Marvel film Black Widow, specifically in regards to Florence Pugh's character. When she was first cast, it was said that she would be a the second female lead who has been described as a “kick ass female Bond” type character.
The new rumor comes from a source who goes by the name of “Roger Wardell”. He is said to be a trusted source who accurately revealed key Avengers: Endgame plot points back in December.
According to the report, Pugh will be playing a character named Yelena Belova, and she will be “introduced as the new version of Scarlett Johansson’s character.”
Yelena Belova is a character from Marvel Comics and she actually became the second Black Widow after training with the same people who trained Natasha Romanoff. Yelena trained for a decade in the Red Room, which is an academy for intelligence operatives. While there, Yelena started feeling inferior and inadequate to Romanova who she idolized. The two eventually became at odds over the years, largely due to Yelena believing that she was the real Black Widow.
It’s not hard to imagine that Pugh will be bringing this character to life, she seems like such a great fit for the role! If this rumor turns out to be true, I’m excited to see how the story plays out.
What do you all think about this latest rumor regarding the Black Widow movie?
Cate Shortland is directing the film and Scarlett Johansson will reprise her role and be joined by David Harbour and Rachel Weisz.
