New Rumors Speculate When We May See MOON KNIGHT and GHOST RIDER Next Appear in the MCU
There are a lot of moving parts in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe right now. Our next two Marvel films are ensembles, which will give us a mix of new and old characters to play with and expect in the upcoming Avengers movies.
We also have rumors about characters who we haven’t seen in a while, or that have not yet been introduced into this current Marvel landscape, and we are figuring out how they all fit together.
In a new report from The Cosmic Circus (via CBM), they report that Moon Knight, who was confirmed to be returning to the screen after his 2022 series premiere, is rumored to take center stage in the planned Midnight Sons movie, but he may first appear in the current series Daredevil: Born Again.
The rumor is based on the idea that Moon Knight's next story is supposed to be set in New York, but it’s unconfirmed, so we'll see what happens. It's also said that Moon Knight will not be part of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Another rumor from the source says Nicolas Cage is reportedly locked in to return as Johnny Blaze. This report says it won't happen in Avengers: Doomsday, so we may be looking at Avengers: Secret Wars or Spider-Man 4 seeing as a team-up has previously been rumored for the wall-crawler's next solo adventure.
Despite that, it doesn't appear as if Cage will be the MCU's main Spirit of Vengeance moving forward. When the character is reintroduced, it's going to be as "an agent of Mephisto before he sets off on his own path."
That suggests Marvel Studios intends to retell Ghost Rider's origin story, beginning with him serving the MCU's devil before becoming a hero in his own right. For what it's worth, we've heard the anti-hero will have a big role in Midnight Sons.
Are you looking forward to the big screen MCU debuts of Moon Knight and Ghost Rider?
