New SCARY MOVIE in Development at Miramax

Miramax, which is now under the Paramount Pictures umbrella, has announced that they will be producing a new Scary Movie film.

The movie is being made under under studio head Jonathan Glickman, and it will go into production this year for a theatrical release in 2025.

The original Scary Movie films were released under Dimension Films, a former genre label of Miramax, and the franchise ran for five movies, grossing north of $896 million.

The original movie was directed by Keenan Ivory Wayans, and co-written by his brothers Shawn Wayans and Marlon Wayans as well as Buddy Johnson.

I only ever watched the first two movies in the franchise before getting bored with it. I can’t say that I’m excited that we are going to be getting more of these horror parody films, but maybe some of you will be excited about it!

Scary Movie 5 was released back in 2013, and since then a whole bunch of horror films have been been released that the new film can parody.
