New SHE-HULK Collectible Makes Me Feel Like I've Entered The Uncanny Valley

Hot Toys has revealed their new She-Hulk collectible figure as seen in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. To me, it seems to encapsulate all the problems with the special effects from the show. First, they used CGI to create everything about She-Hulk, even her clothes weren’t actually real.

So then we have a CGI character meant to fit into the real world, then we take that and make a lifelike collectible figure. Where we ended up at was something that just does not look right in an Uncanny Valley kind of way.

I like stylized collectibles of animated characters, but because the original thing was trying to be lifelike this one just ended up in a weird place. Regardless, it features Jennifer Walters with her purple, white, and black jumpsuit, sneakers, sculpted hair, seamless elbow and knee joints, a variety of hands, a phone, and a new “rolling eyeball” function.

If you liked the series, you can preorder your She-Hulk from Sideshow for $300, which sounds pretty high based on what you’re getting but maybe that’s just me. What do you guys think of this? Am I way off for being a little weirded out about it?
