New SILENT HILL and FATAL FRAME Films are in Development!

The 2006 film adaptation of the horror video game Silent Hill is, in my opinion, one of the best video game adaptations that he been made. Well, we will be getting a new Silent Hill movie soon that to director Christophe Gans (Silent Hill, Brotherhood of the Wolf), who also revealed he’s developing an adaptation of the game, Fatal Frame.

During a recent interview with Allocine, the filmmaker explained that Silent Hill will be set in a small American town ruled over by Puritanism and that Fatal Frame will be set in Japan:

"I have two horror film projects with Victor Hadida. I am working on the adaptation of the video game Project Zero (Fatal Frame) The film will take place in Japan. I especially don’t want to uproot the game from its Japanese haunted house setting. And we’re also working on a new Silent Hill. The project will always be anchored in this atmosphere of a small American town, ravaged by Puritanism. I think it’s time to make a new one."

He doesn’t offer any other information on these adaptations, but as a fan of the two franchises, I’m looking forward to seeing how they turn out. Hopefully, they turn out at least just as good and terrifying as the original Silent Hill movie!
