New SILENT HILL F Trailer Unleashes 3 Minutes of Haunting Story Details
Konami released a chilling new trailer for Silent Hill f at Gamescom. This three-minute sneak peek dives into the eerie narrative surrounding the game’s lead character, Shimizu Hinako, giving us our best look yet at what to expect from the story when the game launches.
Set in a beautifully decaying rural Japan inspired by the 1960s, Silent Hill f feels like a fresh chapter for the franchise. The trailer opens with a chilling police-style voiceover detailing a bloody crime scene, warning to exercise “extreme caution.” That ominous tone bleeds into every frame as we follow Hinako through rotting hallways and crumbling rooms that were once her home.
The heart of the trailer is Hinako’s unsettling journey to “say her goodbyes,” narrated by a mysterious female voice. That voice explains her mission, to kill the remaining fragments of her past with her “own hands.” It’s haunting, it’s tragic, and it sets the stage for a dark and twisted psychological ride.
Silent Hill f clearly wants to carve out its own identity in the horror game franchise. That’s especially clear in one disturbing scene where Hinako confronts a cleaner, more composed version of herself while gripping a blood-soaked pipe. Their eerie silence is broken when her doppelganger delivers a cold message: “please, just die.”
After a stark cut to black, we’re met with another cryptic figure in white who tells Hinako, “it must be hard to bid farewell to childhood friends.” When she agrees, she’s shocked to see them wearing a kitsune mask. As she says, “it had to be done,” we’re thrust into a blood-streaked room and the trailer slams to a close.
From what we’ve seen, it looks like Hinako’s soul is somehow bound to another mysterious character, a life for a life. But the full scope of that connection and the consequences of her actions remain under wraps.
Silent Hill f drops September 25. Enjoy the trailer!
