New SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 Featurette Puts The Spotlight on Idris Elba's Knuckles
I’ve got a new featurette for you to watch today for Sonic The Hedgehog 2 called “Knuckle Down” and it puts the spotlight on Idris Elba’s villain character, Knuckles.
In the video, Elba says: "Sonic was one of my first gaming heroes.” He went on to talk about his character in the film, saying: “Knuckles' sole purpose is to go after Sonic. He's from a very powerful, proud tribe. Knuckles has this menacing presence, you know? He means business."
On top of the cast and crew talking about Knuckles, the video also offers up some cool new footage of the character.
The movie stars Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Idris Elba as Knuckles, Colleen O'Shaughnessey as Miles "Tails" Prower, Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, and James Marsden will be back as Tom Wachowski, a police officer that befriends Sonic and offers him some sound advice.
Here’s the synopsis:
The world’s favorite blue hedgehog is back for a next-level adventure in SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2. After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
The movie is being directed by Jeff Fowler, and it races into theaters on April 8th, 2022.
