New SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME Info Reveals Details on How Nick Fury, Mysterio, and Spider-Man Come Together

Over the weekend we learned some interesting and surprising new details regarding the relationship between Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Today we’ve got even more details to share with you for the movie that shed some light on a few more things regarding Peter Parker’s relationship with Nick Fury and Mysterio. There are also additional details on Happy Hogan and Aunt May.

Before we go on, I just want to make sure that I throw up a spoiler warning just in case.

So, it was already revealed that Spider-Man and Mysterio won’t be enemies in the film. In fact, they will be teaming up and fighting alongside each other to battle the Elementals!

The trailer that premiered this weekend at Brazil’s CCXP, revealed that Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) recruits Spider-Man while he’s on a field trip/vacation in Europe with his friends Ned (Jacob Batalon) and Michelle (Zendaya).

When Fury meets Peter he tells him that Europe is under siege by multiple Elementals, which are described as creatures composed of sand/stone, water, and fire. Those descriptions hint that the Elementals could be inspired by Sandman, Hydro-Man, and Molten Man.

Fury is also the one who supplies Peter with his new black stealth suit and teams him up with Mysterio, who is also recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D. to help out. They also give him his suit, which is said to be full of surprises.

Holland previously described Spider-Man and Mysterio as “brothers-in-arms,” which is a very different approach than the comics. Some fans might not like it, but I like that Marvel is mixing things up and trying new things with these characters!

During an interview with Omelete, Gyllenhaal talks about his character and the lot of the film, saying:

"There are these threats to the world, the Elementals, elemental creatures. And Mysterio is someone who knows about them and wants to make sure that the world is safe from them. And Nick Fury asks him to come on and help because he's the only one who really understands them. And then he teams up with friendly neighborhood Spider-Man and unfortunately has to make him become more than a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man."

I’m actually on board with this and I’m looking forward to seeing how the story arcs for these characters play out.

I’ve also heard that the trailer screened also teases a possible awkward romance between Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) and Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), which seems to make so much sense. Who knows if the flirtation will lead to anything, but we’ll just have to wait and see. For all we know, the little flirtation could just be a bit of humor added for fun.

I’ve included a description of the trailer that I found on Twitter that you can read below if you’re interested.

What do you think of all the details for Spider-Man: Far from Home that we’ve heard so far? Do they get you excited about the movie, or are they worrying you a bit?
