Spoiler-Filled Rumor Claims Five Marvel Actors Have Been Enlisted to Return for AVENGERS: SECRET WARS

A spoiler-filled new rumor has emerged amid all the fan theories that have been shared in the few weeks since Marvel brought their news-filled panel to San Diego Comic-Con.

The biggest news out of the convention was that the next Avengers films were set to have the Russo Brothers return to direct, and they have chosen Robert Downey Jr. to play the role of Doctor Doom.

Since we will be playing in the multiverse for Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027), we all expect to see some favorite old characters return, but this new report claims to know the first five to have signed on.

According to industry "scooper" @MyTimeToShineH (via CBM), Tobey Maguire (Spider-Man), Chris Evans (Captain America/Human Torch), Nicolas Cage (Ghost Rider), Wesley Snipes (Blade), and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) have all supposedly agreed to return to the MCU for Avengers: Secret Wars.

Who knows if this is true, but it could very well be! Marvel Studios has taken the next two Avengers movies in a different direction since Jonathan Majors was ousted as the MCU's Kang the Conqueror. While that villain's story could still be wrapped up somehow, Robert Downey Jr. will suit up as Doctor Doom to play the Multiverse Saga's new big bad.

Despite that major change, the plots of both movies will likely remain largely the same. Based on past rumours, an Incursion will see Earth-616 and Earth-100005 collide, with a new "Battleworld" subsequently created which is made up of the remains of those and other destroyed worlds.

Who are you hoping to see return in the new Avengers movies?
