New STAR TREK: PICARD Featurette Celebrates The Return of The U.S.S. Enterprise-D

Star Trek: Picard Season 3 did some pretty incredible things for the fans of the franchise! There was a lot of fan service, but it was done in the coolest way, and it was also all wrapped up in a great and exciting story! One of the most exciting things was seeing The Next Generation crew reunite on the bridge of the U.S.S. Enterprise-D and then take it out on a little adventure! That just put such a huge smile on my face!

We’ve got a new featurette for you to watch today titled “We Love You, Enterprise-D,” and it features the cast and crew of the series sharing their emotional reactions to working on the restored Star Trek: The Next Generation Enterprise-D bridge set.

Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), William Riker (Jonathan Frakes), Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis), Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton), Worf (Michael Dorn), Data (Brent Spiner), and Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden) reunited with the ship that has been at the Starfleet Museum, which houses all the important ships from Starfleet's past, Geordi revealed that he'd rebuilt the USS Enterprise-D and that it was ready to launch back into action!

When talking about returning to the Enterprise-D bridge, Frakes said that he and the rest of the cast were a little emotional, and explained:

"Didn't you feel it when the turbo lift door opened and we all wandered around and found our part of the bridge? The music I think helped. But the most wonderful part of the morning was we were all jammed in that f**king elevator together just like we had been 35 years ago, knocking each other out of their marks and taking the piss out of each other. It was just as childish and rambunctious a group as it was when we were doing Next Gen. What we've all felt and how thrilled we were to be back on and all the emotion around being on that bridge, that was all very real. We felt that. But when we got set to do the shot and we were all there waiting for action and we were packed into that little room, that's the moment that we all remembered. Oh my God, because we've all been friends for 36 years. So to be packed in a room together in uniform, it was a very special place to be with those doors closed. I'll say that."

If you’re a long-time fan of Star Trek, you’re not going to want to miss this new behind-the-scenes featurette. It’s great!
