Earlier this week we shared a Star Wars fan film titled Order 66. Well, we’ve got a new one to share with you today! This one is titled Betrayal and it tells another Order 66 story, but this is different from the previous film.

The clones' memories being altered, to drive them to complete Order 66, was such a cool idea. What’s cool about this story is that it goes into the head of a Clone Trooper and shows what was going on in his mind when Order 66 was executed.

It imagines how each clone was made to justify his actions. It shows clones' memories being altered, driving them to complete Order 66. It’s a great and unique idea to play with.

The movie was created by Peter Csikasz of Loacher Films and in an interview with Nerdist, he shared his inspiration for the story saying:

“The inspiration came from a random thought I had watching The Clone Wars season finale. In the show the clones have an organic inhibitor chip placed in their brains to force them to obey Order 66. But I thought that there must be more than just forcing obedience. Otherwise the conflicting emotions and thoughts would make the army go mad in a short time, leaving the forming empire defenseless. So my idea was that the chips rewrite their memories along with forcing compliance. This way the clones feel as if the order to kill the Jedi was justified, and that they really were traitors to the republic.”

I love it! It makes the dark and tragic event in the Star Wars saga even more dark and tragic. The short was made over the course of 45 days and Csikasz used Unreal Engine 4 to make it. Check out the short and let us know what you think.
