New STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI EW Covers and Photos Highlight The Heroes and Villains and Asks Some Burning Questions
Entertainment Weekly has released four new magazine covers and photos featuring several of the film's heroes and villains. They also ask four burning questions that fans will want answers to.
The first cover above features Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) and asks the question, "Could Rey fall to the dark Side?"
The second cover has Finn (John Boyega) and Rose (Kelly Marie Tran) with the question, "Can Finn get his mojo back?"
The third cover includes Poe (Oscar Isaac) and Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo (Laura Dern), and it comes with the question, "Can Poe get along with his new boss?"
The final cover features Luke (Mark Hamill) and Leia (Carrie Fisher), and it asks one of the biggest questions... "Will Luke & Leia reunite?"
During an interview with the magazine, writer and director Rian Johnson talks about the history of the light and dark side in the franchise. It's clear that his job is not to protect these characters as the story progresses, but to put them in harm’s way:
“There’s a history in Star Wars of the attraction between the light and the dark, whether it’s the story of Anakin basically turning from this sweet kid and seeing his seduction to the dark side, or even with Luke. Even though you never really believe he’s going to go over to the dark side, the whole revelation of ‘I am your father’ has to do with Vader and this darkness that [Luke] thought he could just dismiss as ‘That’s the bad guy. I don’t have any of him in me.' Suddenly he realizes ‘No, I come from him. I have quite a bit of him inside me.’”
There's a lot of exciting stuff to look forward to! There's been a lot of cool photos and footage released for this movie, but we still have no idea what to expect from the story! Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in theaters on December 15th, 2017.
