New SUPERGIRL Footage Reveals Kara’s Arrival on Earth, Meeting Superman, and Getting Her Suit

Warner Bros. and DC Studios are starting to crank up the marketing for Supergirl as the movie’s release gets closer, and some newly released TikTok ads have offered fans a few cool new looks at the upcoming DCU film.

The footage includes another scene featuring David Corenswet’s Superman giving Kara Zor-El her super suit. As he hands it over, Superman tells her: “It's pretty colorful, but that's just so everyone knows we're good.”

That quick exchange adds a little more personality to the DCU’s Superman while also confirming that Supergirl will include flashbacks exploring Kara’s early days after arriving on Earth.

Along with the costume scene, there’s also a brief glimpse of a younger Kara wearing a spacesuit and another shot showing Kal-El welcoming her to Earth and prepping her for her powers to kick in. It looks like the movie is leaning into the emotional side of Kara’s journey.

Alcock auditioned for the film wearing “a blue long-sleeved shirt and a red skirt” because there wasn’t an actual Supergirl costume prepared for screen tests at the time.

DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran recalled the moment, saying: “Everybody had tears in their eyes. [Milly] wears her heart on her sleeve; she brings so much emotion to the role. We all looked at each other and said, “This is absolutely perfect. She’s exactly what we want."

Safran continued: "[DC executive Chantal Nong] full-on ugly cried. It was a culmination of so much hard work. And then to see somebody who so perfectly embodied the character — when Milly walked out, we all felt it."

Alcock also opened up about that experience and realizing how much the role meant to everyone involved:

"Chantal just cried, and I hugged her, and I was like, 'Are you OK?' That’s when I understood. I’ve got a responsibility."

Everything we’ve seen from Supergirl so far points toward a more heartfelt cosmic story that still embraces the hopeful energy fans want from these characters. Between the emotional Kryptonian family dynamic and Kara trying to find her place on Earth, this could end up being one of the DCU’s most interesting projects yet.

Supergirl flies into theaters on June 26, 2026.
