New Teaser for MADE IN KOREA Throws Viewers into a Fierce Fight for Wealth and Power

Hulu just shared a teaser for the Korean period drama Made in Korea, and it pulls us straight into the grind for influence, survival, and control during one of the most turbulent stretches of 1970s South Korea.

If you love gritty Korean storytelling filled with sharp character clashes and escalating tension, this series looks ready to deliver something intense and seriously gripping.

In the series, "A man driven by ambition for wealth and power, and a prosecutor who gives up everything to stop him – a story unfolding in the whirlwind of a turbulent era."

At the center of Made in Korea is a collision course between two men who represent opposite sides of a shifting society. Hyun Bin steps into the role of Baek Ki-tae, a man consumed by a hunger for influence that grows as the country around him changes.

On the other side is Jung Woo-sung as prosecutor Jang Geon-young, someone fueled by instinct and determination who places everything on the line to bring Baek down. The dynamic between these two characters looks like it will drive much of the show’s conflict, and the teaser hints at a story that goes far beyond business dealings. The tone leans dark, violent, and full of chaos, which feels right at home for a Korean thriller set in this era.

The show introduces a cast that includes Woo Do-hwan, Won Ji-an, Seo Eun-soo, Cho Yeo-jeong, and Jung Sung-il. Their characters orbit the central power struggle, adding layers of loyalty, strategy, and danger.

The synopsis reads: "Set in the 1970s taking place over major events in Korea's history, Baek Ki Tae (Hyun Bin) is an ambitious man, who thirsts for wealth & power. Jang Gun Young (Jung Woo Sung) is a prosecutor with animalistic instinct and fearsome tenacity.

“Facing a major incident, Jang Gun Young throws his everything to stop Baek Ki Tae. The people around them include Lobbyist Choi Yoo Ji (Won Ji An), Investigator Oh Ye Jin (Seo Eun Su), Bae Geum Ji (Cho Yeo Jeong) and Chief Secretary Cheon Seok Joong (Jung Sung Il)."

The series comes from filmmaker Woo Min-ho, who has built a reputation for sharp political dramas and crime stories through films like Inside Men, The Drug King, and The Man Standing Next.

Made in Korea lands on Hulu in the United States on December 24th, 2025.
