New Teaser Trailer for DOWNTON ABBEY: A NEW ERA - The Legacy Continues
Focus Features has released a new teaser trailer for Downton Abbey: A New Era. The Crawleys are returning to the big screen for a second time with this film, and it follows the trials and tribulations of the aristocratic family and their servants later into the 1920s.
No plot details have been shared for the new film, but the original principal cast have returned for the second film along with new additions Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye, and Dominic West.
The screenplay is written by Downton creator Julian Fellowes, with Gareth Neame and Liz Trubridge producing with Fellowes. Simon Curtis (My Week with Marilyn) is directing.
In a recent interview People, Fellowes said the new installment is an “unashamedly feel-good movie. It’s really a new era. The further the ’20s went along, the more the world was changing in so many ways. Everything from entertainment to transport was really different by the end of the ’20s. That’s what we’re referring to in that.”
The initial film followed a Royal Visit to the Crawley family and Downton staff from the King and Queen of England and ended with a ball befitting the Royal Family.
See the film only in theaters on March 18, 2022.
