New Tech Could Eliminate The Need For Colonoscopies And Other Invasive GI Related Tests

There are no two ways about it, colonoscopies are a pain in the ass. They could also soon be a thing of the past as some updated tech may allow for GI tests to render tests like that obsolete and make a GI test as simple as visiting your Gastroenterologist. This electrogastrography device was first attempted back in the 90s, but ultimately discarded due to its inability to block out certain sounds in the body and get an accurate reading.

Fast-forward to now and new technology is available that has again made this a viable product, and Engadget said scientists at UC San Diego are trying to bring it back. The device is meant to measure gastric contractions, which if accurate, can better pinpoint where an issue with someone's digestive system is taking place. Some doctors have disputed the validity of that type of test, but so far, results seem promising.

If it means I don't get a tube up my butt for awhile I'm all for it. This is the tech we need people.
