New Trademark Filing Signals We're Getting a New MARIO & LUIGI Game
A year ago, the latest entry in the Mario & Luigi series of games was released on the 3DS. This is a series of games that was only explored on Nintendo’s handheld systems and I’m sure many fans thought that Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr.’s Journey would be the last of the series. Well, a new trademark was recently filed for the name “Mario & Luigi” in Argentina by Nintendo of America.
The really interesting thing is that AlphaDream went bankrupt just a few months ago. This means that a new studio will probably be put to work on the game.
Due to Nintendo’s current landscape of devices, we’ll probably see something in the series released for either the Switch or for mobile devices. My money is on a new Switch game that will be announced later this year or early next. Are you excited that there may be a future for the Mario & Luigi series?
