New Trailer and Poster for Lighthearted Art Dramedy SHOWING UP Starring Michelle Williams
A new trailer and poster have been released for the art dramedy Showing Up, starring Academy Award-nominated and Emmy-winning actress Michelle Williams (The Greatest Showman, Manchester By the Sea, The Fabelmans). She is joined in the cast by Hong Chau, Maryann Plunkett, John Magaro, André Benjamin, James Le Gros, and Judd Hirsch.
Showing Up is directed by beloved American indie filmmaker Kelly Reichardt (River of Grass, First Cow), from a screenplay written by Jonathan Raymond and Kelly Reichardt.
Here’s the synopsis:
A sculptor (Michelle Williams) preparing to open a new show must balance her creative life with the daily dramas of family and friends, in Kelly Reichardt’s vibrant and captivatingly funny portrait of art & craft.
This looks decent, with a good cast, but it does look a little slow. I’d be willing to give it a shot based on Michelle Williams and Judd Hirsch though. Check out the trailer and poster below, and watch Showing Up in select US theaters on April 5, 2023.
