New Trailer Drops For TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES II: THE SECRET OF THE OOZE 35th Anniversary Theatrical Re-Release
Cowabunga, movie dude! The heroes in a half shell are heading back to the big screen and this time it’s all about the ooze.
Fathom Entertainment has unleashed a second trailer for the 35th anniversary re-release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, and it’s got that pure 1991 energy running through every frame.
After last year’s hugely successful theatrical return of the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, Fathom is keeping the nostalgia train rolling with a one-week-only nationwide run starting March 13th, 2026.
If you grew up quoting this movie, renting it on VHS, or blasting “Ninja Rap” on repeat, this is your moment.
The sequel picks up with Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael digging into the mystery of their mutation while New York City once again finds itself under threat.
The Shredder and the Foot Clan get their hands on the mutagenic ooze at TCRI, turning ordinary creatures into monstrous muscle in the form of Tokka and Rahzar. Things get big, loud, and wonderfully weird.
The official synopsis reads: “Back by bodacious demand! Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo and Raphael return for their most thrilling adventure yet. This time the evil Shredder has learned the secret of the ooze, the force behind the Turtles’ mutation and amazing fighting abilities.
“Now more dangerous than ever, Shredder is determined to destroy the Turtles, bringing along new villains Tokka and Rahzar for a battle to the end.”
That’s the exact flavor of early ‘90s comic book movie chaos we signed up for.
The film was directed by Michael Pressman, known for Boulevard Nights and Some Kind of Hero before stepping into the Turtle-powered mayhem. The screenplay was written by Todd W. Langen, based on the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.
Inside the suits, the Turtles were brought to life by Mark Caso as Leonardo, Leif Tilden as Donatello, Kenn Troum as Raphael, and Michelan Sisti as Michelangelo. Kevin Clash returned as Splinter, with Ernie Reyes Jr. bringing serious kicks as Keno. Paige Turco stepped in as April O’Neil, and Francois Chau played the menacing Shredder.
When the film originally hit theaters in March 1991, it pulled in $78 million worldwide and carved out its own place in TMNT history and I loved it! The movie leans harder into the comic book absurdity, delivers creature-feature villains, and gives us a dance scene that’s forever burned into pop culture.
Fathom’s 35th anniversary screenings of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze will run for one week only beginning March 13th, 2026.
