New Trailer for Amazon's Upcoming A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN Series
Amazon’s Prime Video has released a new trailer for its series adaptation of A League of Their Own. Director Penny Marshall’s 1992 film is a great film and a classic, one of my favorites. The new series is said to be “a fresh approach” to that movie, which centers on the real-life All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.
The series will tell stories of new characters “who embody the spirit of a generation of women who dreamed to play professional baseball.” The official synopsis reads:
A League of Their Own evokes the joyful spirit of Penny Marshall's beloved classic, while widening the lens to tell the story of an entire generation of women who dreamed of playing professional baseball. The show takes a deeper look at race and sexuality, following the journey of a whole new ensemble of characters as they carve their own paths towards the field, both in the League and outside of it.
The series also stars creator Abbi Jacobson along with Chanté Adams, D’Arcy Carden, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Kelly McCormack, Roberta Colindrez, Priscilla Delgado, Molly Ephraim, Kate Berlant, Nick Offerman, and Melanie Field.
