New Trailer for CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION Shows It's More Than a Remake

Square Enix recently revealed a new trailer for Crisis Core –Final Fantasy VII– Reunion. The trailer aims to convince fans that this isn’t just a remaster of a great PSP game. Crisis Core Reunion brings the 15-year old game into gorgeous HD with an amazing graphics overhaul as well as providing fully voiced dialogue, an updated combat system, a newly arranged soundtrack, and more. I never finished the game on the PSP, but this trailer made me want to grab Crisis Core Reunion and play through it.

The story of CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION begins seven years before the events of FINAL FANTASY VII and follows Zack Fair, a young Shinra SOLDIER operative. As his adventure unfolds, he discovers the dark secrets of Shinra’s experiments and the monsters they create.

In addition, an infographic was released for Crisis Core Reunion that highlights the resolution and framerate for each version of the game. PC players have the potential to get the best looking version of the game with up to 120 frames per second depending on your rig. For consoles, PS5 and Xbox Series X are the clear winners with 4K at 60fps with Xbox Series S following up in my opinion with 60fps at 1080p.

Talking about the game, Executive Producer Yoshinori Kitase said:

This is more than a remaster, a game that crosses generations and platforms. We are very proud of all the amazing improvements that the dev team has been able to include in CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION.

Fans will be able to play Crisis Core Reunion starting December 13 on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox (affiliate link) consoles. Also, if you want a high-quality statue of Zack that is otherwise only available with the Japanese Collector’s Edition, you can pre-order one from Square Enix.
