Demented Trailer for James Franco and Josh Duhamel's New Film THE SHOW, About a TV Show Where People Kill Themselves

Giancarlo Esposito, best known for his role on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, has just released a new film starring Josh Duhamel and James Franco called The Show. In what I assume is an attempt to confuse people trying to ask to get tickets at the theater for The Show, the show has an interesting premise. What if people killed themselves in front of a live audience.

Duhamel plays the host of this fake show and issues of morality get brought up. You know, like they would if people started killing themselves on live television. Esposito also stars in the film, alongside Famke Janssen, and Franco takes on the role of a news anchor. It really pokes at the morality of television standards as well as a rise in violence and desensitization in society. The Running Man had a similar premise, where there is a game show that people could die in, but that took place in the crazy future of... oh. 2019. That's not that far away. Of all the crazy futures we could have, this doesn't sound too far off.

After a dating show ends in violence, its host Adam Rogers (Duhamel) and a ratings-hungry network exec launch a terrifying new program that promises fresh kills every week. The tension mounts as a kindhearted janitor joins the deadly program, hoping to help his struggling family survive…at any cost.

The Show arrives in theaters and is available on demand on September 15. Check out the trailer below.
