New Trailer and Clips for Netflix's Fantasy Series THE WITCHER Season 2; Season 3 Announced and More!

Netflix has dropped a new trailer for the upcoming second season of its epic fantasy series The Witcher. It offers up some great new footage that teases the adventurous journey that Henry Cavill‘s Geralt of Rivia and Freya Allan‘s Ciri find themselves on. There were two clips that were also released featuring a look at Kristofer Hivju’s monstrous character Nivellen and Ciri.

It was also announced that the series will be getting a third season! Netflix then announced their plans to fully develop the Witcherverse! There will be a second anime feature following this summer’s The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf as well as a new kids and families series.

The Witcher Season 2 will follow Geralt of Rivia, “convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, seeks to bring Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”

The series also stars Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Jodhi May as Calanthe, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson as Eist, Adam Levy as Mousesack, MyAnna Buring as Tissaia, Mimi Ndiweni as Fringilla, Therica Wilson-Read as Sabrina, Emma Appleton as Renfri, Eamon Farren as Cahir, Joey Batey as Jaskier, Lars Mikkelsen as Stregobor, Royce Pierreson as Istredd, Maciej Musiał as Sir Lazlo, Wilson Radjou-Pujalte as Dara), and Anna Shaffer as Triss.

The Witcher Season 2 will premiere on December 17th, 2021.
