New Trailer for Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway's Thriller SERENITY
"Some Weird Stuff Going on Right Now…"
We’ve got a new trailer to share with you for an upcoming mystery thriller called Serenity that comes from director Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, Locke). It's described as a "sexy, stylized thriller" and stars Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway who reunite for the first time since starring in Christopher Nolan's Interstellar.
McConaughey plays a character named Baker Dill "a fishing boat captain leading tours off a tranquil, tropical enclave called Plymouth Island. His quiet life is shattered, however, when his ex-wife Karen (Hathaway) tracks him down with a desperate plea for help. She begs Dill to save her – and their young son – from her new, violent husband by taking him out to sea on a fishing excursion, only to throw him to the sharks and leave him for dead. Karen’s appearance thrusts Dill back into a life he’d tried to forget, and as he struggles between right and wrong, his world is plunged into a new reality that may not be all that it seems."
This looks like an interesting film that is sure to have a few unexpected twists and turns, and I’m curious to see how this story plays out. I like movies like this, and I hope this turns out to be a good one.
The movie has a great supporting cast which includes Jason Clarke, Djimon Hounsou, Jeremy Strong, and Diane Lane.
Serenity opens in theaters on January 25, 2019.
