New Trailer for MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM HATHAWAY: THE SORCERY OF NYMPH CIRCE Drops You Straight Into the Cockpit

The Mobile Suit Gundam franchise has been building massive sci-fi worlds for decades, constantly expanding its mecha legacy with new timelines and alternate universes.

Even with newer entries like Gundam: The Witch From Mercury exploring fresh territory, the series still loves returning to the timeline that started everything.

Now the legendary “Universal Century” era is back in the spotlight with Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe, and a newly released trailer gives fans a wild look at the experience of piloting a Gundam themselves.

This latest trailer isn’t just promoting the film. It’s teasing a theatrical experience designed to throw audiences right into the action.

The preview highlights upcoming MX4D and 4DX screenings. These formats turn the theater into something closer to a theme park ride. Seats move with the action, environmental effects kick in, and the whole thing is built to simulate the chaos of a Gundam battle.

According to Gundam’s official website, “Following the large-format Dolby Cinema® version, which began screening last week, MX4 and 4DX screenings have been scheduled to begin on Friday, March 13th.

“MX4D and 4DX are attraction-style screening formats that use special effects that stimulate the five senses, such as vibrations, smoke, wind, and water spray, to create a sense of immersion that makes you feel as if you are inside the world of the film.”

That description alone paints a pretty intense picture. If the trailer is anything to go by, fans watching in these formats might actually feel like they’ve climbed into a mobile suit cockpit during the fight scenes.

Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe first hit theaters in Japan earlier this January and quickly pulled in over $14 million. With numbers like that, it seems like only a matter of time before the movie makes its way overseas.

A Western release hasn’t been announced yet, but Gundam films often arrive as limited theatrical events lasting a night or two, so there’s a good chance fans outside Japan will eventually get their chance to see it on the big screen.

Story-wise, the film continues the journey of Hathaway Noa. The last chapter left him deeply entangled in the ongoing war between the Earth Federation and the forces determined to tear it down.

Hathaway’s path now puts him directly at odds with the Federation, echoing the legacy of legendary figures like Amuro Ray and Char Aznable. That connection has been one of the most fascinating aspects of the Hathaway storyline, positioning Noa as a successor shaped by both sides of the conflict.

This new film marks the second installment in the planned Hathaway’s Flash trilogy, which adapts the original light novels. There’s still one more chapter to come, though the final film hasn’t received a release date yet.

Of course, Hathaway’s story is only one piece of the ever-growing Mobile Suit Gundam universe. The franchise continues to roll out new anime series, films, and projects across multiple timelines, keeping the legendary mecha saga alive for longtime fans and newcomers alike.
