New Trailer for Park Chan-wook’s Twisted Dark Comedy NO OTHER CHOICE
Neon has released the full trailer for the dark comedy No Other Choice, marking the return of Park Chan-wook after helming Decision to Leave in 2022.
The movie is based on Donald Westlake’s 1997 novel The Ax, the story follows Man-soo, played by Lee Byung-hun, a man who’s been out of work for years and becomes desperate enough to hatch a chilling plan to eliminate his rivals to land a job.
The movie looks like a stylish and unsettling film that is perfect for Park’s trademark mix of sharp wit and unnerving suspense.
The story follows “a man named Man-soo is abruptly laid off by the paper company where he worked tirelessly for many years. He grows increasingly desperate in his hunt for new work, and eventually he comes to a certain decision about how to handle the competition in the community.” This chilling premise already feels like classic Park territory—dark, twisted, and deeply human.”
No Other Choice is directed and co-written by Park, alongside Lee Kyoung-mi, Jahye Lee, and Don McKellar. With a legacy of acclaimed films like Oldboy, The Handmaiden, and Thirst, expectations are high.
The film also stars Son Ye-jin, Yeom Hye-ran, Park Hee-soon, Yoo Yeon-seok, and Cha Seung-won.
No Other Choice will be released in select US theaters on December 25th, 2025, on Christmas Day.
