New Trailer For STARGATE: ORIGINS Has a Fun INDIANA JONES Kind of Vibe
We've already seen a vague teaser trailer and a behind-the-scenes featurette for this new Stargate: Origins series. But today we have a new trailer and it offers us our best look yet at what this show is going to be like and it looks pretty cool! It has a very Indiana Jones kind of vibe to it and I love that!
The series follows a young version of the character Catherine Langford (Ellie Gall) and it will explore the early history surrounding the first discovery of the alien portals. Catherine will be swept away on an unexpected adventure "to unlock the mystery of what lies beyond the Stargate in order to save the Earth from darkness."
The series is being directed by Mercedes Bryce Morgan and also stars Connor Trinneer (Stargate Atlantis), who will play Catherine's father Professor Langford. The rest of the cast includes Salome Azizi, Philip Alexander, Michelle Jubilee Gonzalez, Daniel Rashid, Sarah Navratil, Shvan Aladdin, Tonatiuh Elizarraraz, Derek Chariton, Justin Michael Terry and Lincoln Werner Hoppe.
Here's a previously released synopsis:
Stargate Origins will be a new chapter in the life of franchise stalwart Catherine Langford, whose father, archeologist Paul Langford, discovered the eponymous Stargate in 1928, when Catherine was a young girl.
Origins will see a young Catherine — whose death as an elderly woman is depicted in the eighth season of Stargate SG-1 — exploring the mysteries of the Stargate in an attempt to save Earth.
Stargate Origins is being developed as a digital series that will consist of 10 episodes that run 10 minutes in length. It will be exclusively shown on a new website called Stargate Command. According to MGM, this website will also be an official destination for all things Stargate, including a “variety of Stargate assets and content from the franchise’s nearly 25-year history.” It also includes some behind-the-scenes footage of the series.
Stargate: Origins will debut on February 15, 2018. Watch the trailer and tell us what you think!
