New Trailer For Steven Soderbergh’s Panama Papers Satire Netflix Film THE LAUNDROMAT

Netflix has shared a final trailer for director Steven Soderbergh’s latest film project The Laundromat. The movie has an incredible cast that includes Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman, Antonio Banderas, Sharon Stone, Robert Patrick, David Schwimmer, and Jeffrey Wright.

The film is a satire that uncovers a global conspiracy involving the elite and how they keep the power and money that they have acquired. It’s based on Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jake Bernstein‘s nonfiction book, Secrecy World: Inside the Panama Papers Investigation of Illicit Money Networks and the Global Elite.

The film tells the story of a widow (Streep) as she investigates insurance fraud, “chasing leads to a pair of Panama City law partners (Oldman and Banderas) exploiting the world’s financial system.”

Soderbergh developed the film with screenwriter Scott Z. Burns and they’ve worked on a few projects together like Contagion and Side Effects. I’m a big fan of Soderbergh and his work, and this one looks like it’s going to be another entertaining movie where Steep gives another wonderful performance.

The movie debuts on Netflix today, October 18th.
