New Trailer for Taika Waititi’s Amazing HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE

Taika Waititi, the director of the upcoming Marvel film Thor: Ragnarok, has made one of the best and most entertaining films of the year. It’s called Hunt for the Wilderpeople, and it’s a movie that you will not want to miss. This was my number one favorite film at Sundance, and as I said in my review:

This is a brilliantly written and directed film that I know for a fact audiences will love. Waititi has reached a new level of excellence in his filmmaking career with this movie. All of the characters are amazingly wonderful and likable and you can't help but fall in love with them. It doesn't hurt the the actors cast as these characters amazingly bring them to life for the audiences enjoyment.
Hunt for the Wilderpeople has got everything you want in a movie. Action, adventure, comedy, drama, danger, and excitement. I really couldn't have asked for anything more from this movie. In my mind it was a perfect film.

The movie stars Sam Neill and Julian Dennison as the main characters, and it is based on Barry Crump’s book Wild Pork and Watercress. A series of events leads their characters Ricky and Hec on a crazy adventure through the New Zealand wilderness as they are being hunted down by social services and the police.

Raised on hip-hop and foster care, defiant city kid Ricky gets a fresh start in the New Zealand countryside. He quickly finds himself at home with his new foster family: the loving Aunt Bella, the cantankerous Uncle Hec, and dog Tupac. When a tragedy strikes that threatens to ship Ricky to another home, both he and Hec go on the run in the bush. As a national manhunt ensues, the newly branded outlaws must face their options: go out in a blaze of glory or overcome their differences and survive as a family. Director Taika Waititi (WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, upcoming THOR: RAGNORAK) masterfully weaves lively humor with emotionally honest performances by Sam Neill and Julian Dennison. A hilarious, touching crowd-pleaser, HUNT FOR THEWILDERPEOPLE reminds us about the journey that growing up is (at any age) and those who help us along the way.

In case you don’t remember, Waititi is the filmmaker who brought us Eagle Vs. Shark, Boy, and What We Do In Shadows. The movie is set to be released on June 24th, and it’s a summer film you won’t want to miss!
