New Trailer for the Horror Thriller MIDSOMMAR – Let the Terrifying Festivities Begin!

Happy summer solstice everyone! To mark the occasion, A24 has released a new trailer for the upcoming terrifying horror thriller Midsommar. I’ve been hearing great things about this movie, and it’s been described as be a deranged and nasty daylight nightmare.

The movie comes from director Ari Aster, who previously brought us the the horrific horror movie Hereditary. This movie has a very different feel than most horror films as it has a very bright and vibrant setting. A setting where you don’t expect to see bad and evil things happen.

The film centers on a couple, played by Jack Reynor and Florence Pugh, who are having relationship issues. Pugh’s character seems to be having an emotional breakdown. They end up being invited to Sweden by a friend to attend some traditional midsummer festivities. The trip starts out fine, but then things quickly escalate into a maddening, violent, and bizarre ordeal.

The director previously explained that the movie is based on a “Scandinavian folk horror” story and also said that the film is “an apocalyptic breakup movie” and explained that the “recent death of the main character’s parents casts a sense of dread over the proceedings.”

If you’re into disturbing horror films that mess with your head, it looks like this one is going to give that to you.

Midsommar also has a great cast that includes Will PoulterVilhem Blomgren, William Jackson HarperEllora Torchia, and Archie Madekwe.

Midsommar opens in theaters on August 9th, 2019.
