New Trailer For WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER: FIRST DAY OF CAMP

The Wet Hot American Summer prequel, First Day of Camp, is one of the craziest projects I've heard of in a long time, solely because director David Wain has recruited the same cast from his 2001 comedy to reprise their roles. So Bradley Cooper, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Amy Poehler, and people who are far more famous now than they were back then are playing younger versions of their characters, even though in real life they're fourteen years older. It's the kind of absurdity that fits in this universe perfectly.

Now there's a new trailer that has a warped VHS look to it that takes us back to Camp Firewood and shows off some of the activities campers can participate in while they're there. H. Jon Benjamin (the voice of Archer and the can of corn in the first movie) provides the stoic voiceover. And if you pay close attention, it looks like this was recorded over a sex tape between Bradley Cooper and Michael Ian Black's characters. There's no sign of new additions like Chris Pine, Jon Hamm, or Kristen Wiig, but even if we don't see them in any marketing leading up to the release, we don't have long to wait before all eight episodes are available on Netflix. You can head back to camp on July 31st. Watch the trailer below:
