New Trailer Released For MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS with Margot Robbie and Saoirse Ronan

We have a new trailer for you to watch for the upcoming film Mary Queen of Scots. The movie stars Margot Robbie and Saoirse Ronan and this trailer teases what it is that led to Mary Stuart being executed by her sister Elizabeth I.

The story follows Mary Stuart (Ronan), the Queen of France, who at the age of 18, defied pressure to remarry following her husband’s death and instead returned to her native Scotland to reclaim her throne. This move ends up pitting her against Elizabeth I (Robbie), who rules over both England and Scotland, and the two fiercely engage in a battle for the throne.

As you’ll see, both actresses give incredible performances in this film. Here's the synopsis:

Mary, Queen of Scots explores the turbulent life of the charismatic Mary Stuart. Queen of France at 16 and widowed at 18, Mary defies pressure to remarry. Instead, she returns to her native Scotland to reclaim her rightful throne. But Scotland and England fall under the rule of the compelling Elizabeth 1.  Each young Queen beholds her “sister” in fear and fascination. Rivals in power and in love, and female regents in a masculine world, the two must decide how to play the game of marriage versus independence. Determined to rule as much more than a figurehead, Mary asserts her claim to the English throne, threatening Elizabeth’s sovereignty. Betrayal, rebellion, and conspiracies within each court imperil both thrones – and change the course of history.

British theater director Josie Rourke directed the film from a screenplay written by Beau Willimon. The film also stars Jack LowdenJoe AlwynGemma ChanMartin CompstonIsmael CordovaBrendan CoyleIan HartAdrian LesterJames McArdleDavid Tennant, and Guy Pearce
