New Update on STAR WARS Prequel Star; Jake Lloyd Assures Fans He Is Doing Very Well
Two years ago, we shared an update on the actor Jake Lloyd who famously portrayed Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequel movies.
After starring in those films, as well as a handful of others, Lloyd stepped away from acting, and unfortunately suffered from trouble with his mental health as an adult, ultimately being diagnosed with schizophrenia.
He was able to seek treatment, and at the time of our last reporting, he was in a facility, where his mother said he was able to make a lot of progress and become stable.
Now, we have another update, which keeps the good news coming. In a post from reporter/writer Clayton Sandell's Instagram, the Star Wars superfan and supporter posted an update about meeting with Lloyd and his mother, revealing:
“I spent part of my weekend catching up with Jake Lloyd and his mom Lisa. I’ve been honored to help share their story over the last few years. (see my Substack post, LINK IN BIO). As you may know, they’ve faced a lot of ups and downs managing Jake’s schizophrenia diagnosis.
“I’m really happy to share, however, that today Jake is doing better than I’ve ever seen him. He’s engaging, curious, and funny. We had a great conversation about video games and editing programs—two of his big interests.”
He shared that there's more exciting news about the 37 year old coming soon, explaining:
“In June, he completed a long-term program that has done wonders for him—helping him stay on track with medication, therapy, and other life skills.
“Progress is measured in days sometimes, but along with his mom, who continues providing extraordinary and unwavering support, there are many reasons to be optimistic about Jake’s future. More to come…”
Sandell also shared a photo of himself with Jake and his mother in the post, which you can check out below. It’s so great to hear that Jake Lloyd was able to get the help he needed, and is in a good place. I look forward to hearing what else he has in store.
