New Video Games to Look Out for In May 2021

There are a lot of great games this month! With genre-leaders like Resident Evil and Mass Effect and genre-benders like Hood and Subnautica, there is a lot to be excited about this month. There were a lot more games we could have listed here, but here are our top ones for the month.

Resident Evil Village/Re:Verse - May 7th

Stadia, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X

Explore the mountains and creepy towns in the newest Resident Evil game. With the most fatal of female antagonists chasing you down, this game looks to be another intriguing step into the Resident Evil universe. Re:Verse is included when purchasing village. It is a team deathmatch/survival game that brings many beloved cast members of the franchise into this PvP game.

Hood: Outlaws & Legends - May 10th

PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X

We’ve seen a lot of different multiplayer games in recent years, but this is something unique. Two teams of four try to infiltrate a castle or fortress, steal a treasure and leave safely. Both teams have to get past guards, find keys and fight each other for the treasure.

RWBY: Grimm Eclipse - May 13th

Grimm Eclipse was a fun, four-player co-op game that threw fans of the RWBY franchise into the fray. Enjoy all the updates, DLC, eight new outfits, and two-player couch co-op on the Switch version.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition - May 14th

PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One

It’s time to go through the entire Mass Effect games and all the DLCs. On the 14th, players can hop back on the Normandy SR-2 and go through all three games’ epic stories in one neatly made package. With improved visuals and better performances from newer consoles, this will be the best way to experience this space epic.

Subnautica: Below Zero - May 14th

PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X

Get ready to explore the freezing cold waters in Subnautica: Below Zero. A new story, a new place to explore, new tools, and new things to build, it’s safe to say that fans of the original will have lots to enjoy here.

Knockout City - May 21st

Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X

Imagine if dodgeball was more intense, required way more platforming and wild attacks. This is Knockout City, an enhanced version of dodgeball. Players can use all sorts of attacks in all sorts of locations to take out the competition in the Cross-Platform title.

Miitopia - May 21st

Nintendo Switch

While nobody may have asked for this game, it is on its way. A remaster of the original Miitopia for Nintendo 3DS from 2016 is coming to the Nintendo Switch. This RPG currently has a demo on the store, so why not check out this game and its wildness.

Rust Console Edition - May 21st

PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One

This game has made huge strides in the past months and is now coming to PS4 and Xbox One. It has had a huge following and high ratings on PC for a long time and we’ll see how it transitions to consoles.

Biomutant - May 25th

PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One

It is finally being released! After a long development process, Biomutant is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Control a small but agile character with a wide variety of combat styles. Wushu fighting, swords, and guns are all mixed together to give players an exciting combat experience. Players will fight all sorts of enemies, explore vast areas and take on some big bosses.

Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster - May 25th

Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Steam

After 18 years, we get to revisit the third entry of the Shin Megami Tensei franchise. This remaster has greatly enhanced graphics but still retains all the best parts of the game’s mechanics. Between some serious in-game choices, recruiting enemies, and turn-based battle, there is a lot to love for fans of the franchise.
