New WATCHMAN Series Photo Reveals The Original Minutemen Crime-Fighting Team
HBO’s Watchmen has been such a great show to watch. Damon Lindelof has created a great story that continues what the classic original graphic novel started. In the last episode, the series took us back to a time that showed us the beginning of costumed crimefighters. It also offered a glimpse of the original crime-fighting team in this universe, the Minutemen.
HBO has since released a new photo giving us a clear look at the Minutemen team which features Silhouette, Mothman, Dollar Bill, Nite Owl, Captain Metropolis, Silk Spectre, Hooded Justice, and, kneeling in front, The Comedian.
The Minutemen were the premier group of superheroes throughout the 1940s. They were founded in 1939, largely through the actions of Nelson Gardner (Captain Metropolis), Sally Jupiter (the first Silk Spectre) and Sally Jupiter’s agent Laurence Schexnayder. Schexnayder also provided the group’s publicity. After several public controversies, the group finally disbanded in 1949.
The episode mostly focuses on the origins of Hooded Justice, who spent some time with Captain Metropolis, aka Nelson Gardner.
I also included a photo of the same team below that was featured in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen movie just so you can compare the two.
