New WEDNESDAY Featurette Gives Closer Look At Nevermore Academy

Wednesday, the new Netflix series from Tim Burton, will be premiering on November 23 on Netflix. To get you excited, Netflix released a new featurette that gives us a closer look at Nevermore Academy. We get commentary from Burton, Alfred Gogh, Miles Millar, Jenna Ortega, and more as they talk about what looks like an incredible set to work on.

Full of gothic statues, the school feels very supernatural and spooky even without all the other supernatural elements the show has. I’m really impressed at how many custom set pieces they introduced, especially the spiderweb window in Wednesday’s dorm room.

Although for me naming it Nevermore is a little on the nose, it looks like it was an amazing set to film on and should be ever cooler to watch. I’m still not completely sold on the show story wise, but this set looks like it will be full of Easter eggs for the keen observer to find.

Check out the featurette below and let me know what you think, will you be tuning in November 23?

This is a twisted coming of age comedy story about “a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.”

The series also stars Luis Guzmán, who is playing Gomez Addams, and Catherine Zeta-Jones in the role of Morticia Addams, as well as Gwendoline Christie, Christina Ricci, Hunter Doohan, Percy Hynes White, Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Georgie Farmer, Naomi Ogawa and Moosa Mostafa.

The eight-episode series was written by Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar, and it was directed by Burton. All three of them will also serve as showrunners on the series and executive producers.
