New X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX Set Photos Tease Major Battle For Jean Grey
Some new photos have surfaced from the set of X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which is currently going through some big reshoots. The photos tease and big battle between Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey and Jessica Chastain’s mystery character.
The two actress are all decked out in motion capture gear which tells us whatever this scene entails is going to involve a lot of special effects.
There are a lot of rumors surrounding the state of this film. A month ago we heard that the film would be going through three months of rehoots. Then that rumor shut down and it was only supposed to be two and a half weeks of reshoots. But, a month later the film still seems to be in reshoots. So regardless, the film is going through some major reshoots. Hopefully it will result in a great X-Men movie.
The film is set in 1992, "roughly a decade after Apocalypse and finds the X-Men dealing with being heroes. An unfortunate side effect is how that fuels Charles Xavier's (James McAvoy) ego. He starts sending the team on more dangerous missions, including one to space that ends with Grey going to some very dark places."
Jean Grey begins to develop incredible powers that corrupt and turn it into a Dark Phoenix. Mystique, Beast, Storm, Nightcrawler and the rest of the X-Men spring into action when a malevolent, power-hungry force threatens to overtake Jean Grey’s mind.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix also stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult. It opens on February 14, 2019.
