New York City Council Votes To Name a Street After Stan Lee in The Bronx

Stan Lee, the co-creator of the Marvel Universe, will be getting a street named after him in the Bronx. The news comes from the New York Post, who says that the New York City Council voted to approve a proposal to co-name University Avenue between Brandt Place and West 176th “Stan Lee Way.”

What a cool way to honor a man who brought so much joy and happiness to the lives of people with the characters he created. The proposal still needs to be approved by Mayor Bill de Blasio, but I don’t think that’ll be an issue.

As many of you know Stan Lee has ties to The Bronx. He lived at 1720 University Place and he attended high school at DeWitt Clinton HS in the Bronx.

Stan Lee passed away in November of 2018 but his spirit and legacy has lived on through his work. Not a day goes by that I don’t see something from Marvel that reminds me of Stan and his contribution to the world. He will be missed, but he’ll never be forgotten.
