Nicholas Hoult in Talks to Play Young J.R.R. Tolkien, The Author of THE HOBBIT and THE LORD OF THE RINGS

X-Men, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Warm Bodies star Nicolas Hoult is in talks to play the legendary author J.R.R. Tolkien in a film that will explore his early life. As you already know, Tolkien is the man behind the world of Middle Earth.

The movie is called Tolkien and according to Deadline, it will follow "the formative years of the orphaned author as he finds friendship, love and artistic inspiration among a fellow group of outcasts at school. This takes him into the outbreak of World War I, which threatens to tear the 'fellowship' apart. All of these experiences would inspire Tolkien to write his famous Middle-Earth novels."

According to the report, the filmmakers developing the movie wanted to hire Hoult based on his performance in a film called The Favorite, which I haven't seen. Hoult is a great actor and I think He'd be great in the role of Tolkien, it's also a solid role for him to take on. It would be great if things worked out and he ended up landing the role.

Hoult is currently set to play Nikolas Tesla in The Current War, which is another awesome role of him. As a long time fan of Tolkien, I'm just curious to see how this movie about his early life turns out.
