Nicole Kidman Plays Lucille Ball in First Teaser Trailer for BEING THE RICARDOS
Amazon Studios has dropped the first trailer for Being The Ricardos, which tells the true, behind the scenes story of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. The movie comes from writer and director Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, Molly’s Game, The Trial of The Chicago 7), and it stars Nicole Kidman in the role of Lucille and Javier Bardem as Desi.
In the film, “Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz are threatened by shocking personal accusations, a political smear and cultural taboos.” It offers a “revealing glimpse of the couple’s complex romantic and professional relationship, the film takes audiences into the writers’ room, onto the soundstage and behind closed doors with Ball and Arnaz during one critical production week of their groundbreaking sitcom I Love Lucy.”
The teaser offers our first look at the film and it looks like an interesting film. I don’t really know much about the behind the scenes story of I Love Lucy or the personal lives of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, so I’m looking forward to watching to see how their story unfolds in this film.
I was really curious about seeing Kidman in the role of Ball, but we only get a quick glimpse of her in this teaser and it certainly looks like she is a solid fit for the role. But, I’m curious to see more of her.
The film also stars Tony Hale, Alia Shawkat, Jake Lacy, Nina Arianda, Clark Gregg, Nelson Franklin, John Rubinstein, Linda Lavin, Robert Pine, Christopher Denham, and J.K. Simmons.
Being the Ricardos opens in theaters December 10, 2021 and on Amazon Prime Video on December 21, 2021.
