Nick Nolte Has Joined the Live-Action STAR WARS Series THE MANDALORIAN!

We’ve got some big casting news for Jon Favreau’s Star Wars series The Mandalorian. Nick Nolte has just been cast in it!

We don’t know who Nolte is playing in the series, but a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, he was on a short list of actors considered to play Han Solo before Harrison Ford was cast. After all these years, he’s finally made it into the Star Wars universe!

Nolte joins the previously cast Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, and Carl Weathers (Rocky, Predator). Favreau wrote and produced the series, which is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order and follows “a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”

The episodes will be directed by Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).

The series is set to premiere on Disney+ sometime next year.

What do you think about Nick Nolte joining The Mandalorian? What kind of character do you see him playing?
