Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally Have Joined THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY Season 4
I’ve got some fun news for all The Umbrella Academy fans with the report of two new cast members coming to the fourth and final season of the hit Netflix series. Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally, who are married in real life, will be joining the show as a "mild-mannered married couple named Jean and Gene, who are college professors," according to an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight.
While the deal hasn't been officially closed, Mullally revealed that they will start filming "in a couple of weeks." She also said: "I mean, the deal's not quite closed but let's just pretend it is.”
This news comes after rumors circulated that the former Parks and Recreation stars were joining the cast and that several new roles were being added for the final season.
Offerman recently received critical acclaim for his role as a survivalist named Bill in the third episode of HBO's The Last of Us Season 1. Mullally, who convinced her husband to take the part after the original actor dropped out, admitted to crying while watching the episode and even jokingly referred to Offerman as "Episode Three" around the house.
Mullally explained: "I had to convince [him] not because he didn't love the script but because he was so busy. And I said, 'Well let me read it and I'll tell you whether or not you're gonna do it.‘ I read it and I was like, 'You're doing it.'"
With all the buzz surrounding his performance, Mullally even teased that she has "cleared" space on the mantle for a potential Emmy. While Offerman may not go that far himself, it's clear that these two are a talented duo and will bring their unique chemistry to The Umbrella Academy.
