Nick Offerman Joins David E. Kelley's Apple Series MARGO'S GOT MONEY TROUBLES Based on the Book
Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) has joined the cast of the Apple TV+ series, Margo’s Got Money Troubles, based on the book by Rufi Thorpe. Offerman joins previously announced cast members Elle Fanning, fellow Emmy winner Nicole Kidman and Michelle Pfeiffer.
The eight-part series, set in the world of OnlyFans with a wrestling twist, hails from prolific TV creator David E. Kelley and A24, with Fanning and Kidman also executive producing.
“Fanning stars as Margo Millet, the child of a Hooters waitress (Pfeiffer) and an ex-pro wrestler (Offerman), who becomes pregnant after a brief affair with an English professor at the local junior college she attends.
“Now, at twenty, Margo is alone with an infant, unemployed, and on the verge of eviction. When her estranged father, Jinx (Offerman), shows up on her doorstep and asks to move in with her, she agrees in exchange for help with childcare.
“Margo starts an OnlyFans as an experiment and soon finds herself adapting some of Jinx’s advice from the world of wrestling. Could this be the answer to all of Margo’s problems, or does internet fame come with too high a price?”
Kidman is believed to be playing Margo and her professor’s mediator.
Kelley serves as writer and showrunner. He and Matthew Tinker executive produce for David E. Kelley Productions alongside Elle Fanning, Dakota Fanning and Brittany Kahan Ward for Lewellen Pictures; and Kidman and Per Saari of Blossom Films. Pfeiffer, author Thorpe and Eva Anderson also executive produce.
Parks and Recreation alum Offerman won an Emmy for his guest-starring turn on Season 1 of HBO’s The last Of Us. He also next stars in the Netflix limited series Death by Lightning.
