Nick Robinson Is a Darknet Drug Lord in Trailer for SILK ROAD
Lionsgate has released a trailer for its upcoming crime thriller Silk Road. The film is based on the Rolling Stone article titled “Dead End on Silk Road” written by David Kushner, and the story follows the rise and fall of Silk Road, which is an infamous darknet site “that sent a seismic shock through the World Wide Web.” This is one of those crazy unbelievable true stories that is sure to make for an interesting and entertaining movie.
Nick Robinson stars in the film as Ross Ulbricht, a young, idealistic, and driven to succeed person who “creates the internet’s first unregulated marketplace: Silk Road. But when it becomes a multimillion-dollar pipeline for illicit drugs, Ross is set on a collision course with Rick Bowden, a disreputable and dangerously unpredictable DEA agent, who will use any means necessary to take him down.”
Rick Bowden is played by Jason Clarke in the film, and he’s also joined by Alexandra Shipp (Tragedy Girls), Jimmi Simpson (Westworld), Paul Walter-Hauser (Richard Jewell), Darrell Britt-Gibson (Power), Katie Aselton (Legion), Lexi Rabe, and Daniel David Stewart.
Silk Road is written and directed by Tiller Russell, and it will be released in select theaters, on digital, and on VOD on February 19, 2021.
