Nickelodeon Announces SPONGEBOB Spinoff Series THE PATRICK STAR SHOW

SpongeBob Squarepants is getting a spinoff series that will put the focus on SpongeBob’s best friend Patrick Star, who is voiced by Bill Fagerbakke. The new series is titled The Patrick Star Show!

There’s no doubt this news will excite Spongebob fans. Nickelodeon has already started recording the voice work for the series which is expected to receive a 13-episode order. The creative team behind the SpongeBob series are also developing this new series.

According to Deadline, The Patrick Star Show is “in the vein of The Larry Sanders Show and Comedy Bang Bang!, with Patrick hosting his own late-night talk show. I hear the series would revolve around Patrick and his family. Fagerbakke is being joined by a largely new cast voicing new characters, with SpongeBob cast members expected to make occasional appearances, reprising their roles.”

The new SpongeBob spinoff is one of several new animated projects coming to Nickelodeon. It joins the recently announced adaptation of Real Pigeons Fight Crime and Middlemost Post.

While we’re on the subject of SpongeBob, don’t forget, the upcoming film, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, will be released on premium VOD and CBS All Access in early 2021.
