Nicolas Cage and FKA twigs Star in Dark Jesus Horror Movie THE CARPENTER'S SON

Magnolia Pictures just released the first teaser for The Carpenter’s Son, a chilling new take on the childhood of Jesus that stars Nicolas Cage and FKA twigs.

The mysterious preview sets the tone for a twisted reimagining of faith, power, and horror, and confirms the film will arrive in theaters Fall 2025 A.D.

Directed and written by Lotfy Nathan, the story is inspired by the apocryphal Infancy Gospel of Thomas. It follows a family in hiding in Roman Egypt. Their son, known only as “the Boy,” begins to rebel against his guardian, the Carpenter, after encountering another mysterious child.

His doubts unleash supernatural abilities and mark him with a destiny he doesn’t fully understand. That awakening draws the family into terrifying conflict with forces both divine and earthly.

The film’s synopsis teases: “Known only as ‘the Boy’, the son is driven to doubt by another mysterious child and rebels against his guardian, the Carpenter, revealing inherent powers and a fate beyond his comprehension. As he exercises his own power, the Boy and his family become the target of horrors both natural and divine.”

Cage takes on the role of the Carpenter, while twigs plays Mother. Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place, A Quiet Place Part II) stars as the Boy, with Isla Johnston (Invasion) also joining the cast.

Magnolia’s co-CEOs Eamonn Bowles and Dori Begley praised the ambitious vision, saying: “With The Carpenter’s Son, Lotfy Nathan has delivered a genre-bending spectacle that defies expectations at every turn.”

The Carpenter’s Son promises to deliver something eerie, crazy, and unlike any Biblical story audiences have seen before. With Cage stepping into the role of the Carpenter and twigs bringing her haunting presence to Mother, this looks like a genre film that will push boundaries in some wild ways.
