Nicolas Cage and Justin Long Get Caught in a Deadly Diner Showdown in BEST PANCAKES IN THE COUNTY Trailer
Nicolas Cage is back with another wonderfully weird-looking movie, and this time he's sporting a ridiculous prosthetic nose while getting caught up in a violent crime comedy.
IFC Films has released the first full trailer for Best Pancakes in the County, which also stars Justin Long, and it looks like a wild night of crooked FBI agents, dangerous criminals, and a small-town diner where ordering breakfast might be the least of your worries.
The story takes place over one chaotic night following a botched FBI heist. A clever criminal retreats to a remote diner, only to find himself surrounded by rival assassins, corrupt federal agents, and a waitress who knows more than she's letting on.
What should be a simple roadside stop turns into a deadly standoff as everyone tries to figure out who they can trust and who they need to kill to make it out alive.
The trailer gives us a taste of the movie's offbeat humor, frantic action, and questionable characters. At one point, someone asks, "How many more crooked feds could there possibly be...?" Apparently, quite a few.
Then there's Cage's bizarre appearance. The guy is wearing an enormous fake nose, and I have no idea what the reasoning is behind that creative decision. Is it supposed to make his character look more intimidating? More ridiculous? Whatever the case, it's certainly a choice, and one that makes this strange little crime thriller even stranger.
The film also stars Shelley Hennig, Lauren German, Ravi Patel, Tetiana Dar, Brandon Mychal Smith, and Kelly Greyson.
IFC Films seems pretty confident about what they've got here, describing the movie as "This action-packed, fast-paced adventure with wit & intensity is set to captivate audiences worldwide."
We'll see about that. The trailer has the feel of a low-budget crime comedy that's banking heavily on Cage's involvement to attract an audience. Still, there's something amusing about watching a group of criminals and corrupt agents tear each other apart inside a diner supposedly famous for its pancakes.
This could end up being a fun little crime comedy, or it could be another forgettable entry in Cage's increasingly unpredictable filmography. Either way, watching Cage and Long navigate a diner full of killers sounds entertaining enough to give the trailer a look.
Best Pancakes in the County is written and directed by Ken Sanzel. IFC Films will release Best Pancakes in the County in select U.S. theaters and on VOD on November 20, 2026.
