Nicolas Cage Reveals What His Favorite Nicolas Cage Movie Is
With the recent release The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, there’s been a lot of Nicolas Cage talk going on, and he’s been sharing lots of interesting information about himself and his career. Now, thanks to a new video released by Wired, we know what Nicolas Cage’s favorite Nicolas Cage film is.
The video features Cage answering some of the web’s most searched questions about him, and while discussing those, he shared that his favorite movie of his is Pig:
"My favorite Nicolas Cage film is Pig. I thought it was like a folk song. I thought it was like a haiku. I felt that in that movie I had become seasoned and I had entered the room."
Then, during a Reddit AMA, Cage was asked, "If only 3 of your films could be preserved for posterity, which 3 would you choose?" Pig was also on that list along with Bringing Out the Dead, and Leaving Las Vegas. Those are his top three favorite movies. He went on to explain:
"I think Leaving Las Vegas, Pig, and Bringing Out The Dead are my three favorite performances of my own body of work. I have not seen Leaving Las Vegas recently, however that movie and Elizabeth Shue's work in that movie are what I aspire to continue towards, and did continue towards with Pig, which is why I am always going to be up for small budget, independent, dramas."
All of those are great films, but Pig is definitely my personal favorite. I freakin’ loved Pig, and he delivered one of the best performances of the year and his career. He obviously recognizes that.
Another one of my all-time favorite Cage films is Raising Arizona, and I would love to see Cage do more comedy!
